Social Media Marketing is the use of the social media platforms to build and connect with our audience, the reason for this is so you can help to build your clients brand, increase their sales and you want to be able to drive traffic to their website. What this means is that you will be creating engaging content and posting on your clients’ social media sites. This also means engaging with other accounts to grow your clients’ audience/ customers. 4. Email Marketing
Email marketing in one of the most powerful forms to get your clients’ business seen. It can make their clients’ more aware of what it is their business has to offer. Email marketing is one of the best forms of a marketing strategy. With email marketing you can build brand awareness and relationships. It is a fantastic way to keep your customers engaged between purchases.
5. Paid ads
Paid ads are ads that you have seen on online search engines that are paid for by brand owners to create more awareness around their brand and drive traffic to their website.
However, you do not have to become a digital marketing manager, if any of the above aspects of digital marketing stand out to you, you can just specialise in that particular area. For example, you can become, an SEO Manager, Content Marketing Specialist, Social Media Manager, Marketing Automation Manger. How do I get a career in digital marketing?
There are many different avenues you can take when it comes to beginning a career in digital marketing. Some of these avenues are:
Developing your skills
Developing your skills within this field are extremely important. You want to be able to grasp the idea of different apps and websites and know how they work. For example, some of these sites might be, social media websites (this is 100% a need), email marketing sites, scheduling sites, SEO auditing sites. The list goes on. It is important to keep up with digital marketing trends for this reason.
There are plenty of skills that are useful in this industry these skills include creativity, analytical knowledge and research, video production, web design, SEO knowledge etc.
Do a digital marketing degree
There are plenty of universities in the UK that provide the chance to complete a digital marketing degree. Having a degree, opens all sorts of doors for you, it is beneficial having a degree behind you. Whenever you complete a digital marketing degree, it is common that you will have to do a one-year placement, which will also give you the experience that you need. Also, throughout your degree, you will learn about the various aspects of digital marketing which tends to include, using marketing software. This degree is great if you are interested in web design, digital graphic design, marketing communication, multimedia production etc.#
Get experience in digital marketing
A degree is not for everyone and that is perfectly ok! Instead of applying for a degree, you can get the equivalent experience with just creating your own experience. Email companies and look on job sites for internships where you do not need any experience. Completing an internship will give you the experience you need, and you will also learn so much and eventually you may feel comfortable enough to start freelancing.
